Been busy over the past several months, but happy to share that I performed in my second SMYA concert and am preparing for a couple aranghetrams taking place in August. In addition, I continue to create more Instagram reels and am hoping to reach more fans and grow my audience even more!

December 2023

It's been a year since I last gave an update. I've been working away on another actuarial exam. A few exciting things that have happened this past year: I participated in my very first jazz concert in Durham and it was amazing seeing everyone there and it's a huge thanks to our fans for all their support. I've also had a concert in New Jersey where I played mridangam. In addition, I continue to work with tons of people on new music and new projects.

November 2022

It's been a tough number of months, but I used my spare time to release a new album called, "1Life". I tried to explore more soulful styles and give a calmer feeling than before. I made some variations of other songs to explore using different instruments to create the same feeling as others. It took a number of weeks to produce, but I think the end result really speaks for itself. Hope y'all like it!

I may have been busy at work the past few months, but I have never rested on my laurels with some cool new music coming your way!

January 2022

I launched my new album, "Glücklich", a couple weeks ago, and it has been doing really well among my old friends and people here in Raleigh. This new album is unique because it explores integrating various German musical genres with Western instruments and my own compositions. It took almost a year to write and produce, but I think the end result is awesome. I hope y'all have as much fun listening to it as I had making it!

So, I now live in Raleigh, North Carolina, and it's been almost a month now.

I am now looking for ways to get into music video making as well as modeling as an artist to hopefully engage more people and my current fanbase. I am also working on some new music and can't wait to share it with you all soon!

March 2021

This month, I launched my very first studio album, called "The Magic Umbrella". This is a really special album because I decided to make my very first studio album. This is therefore, a culmination of all my works from the studio. I truly enjoyed learning the basics of composing, mixing, and producing to make this wonderful album. I hope you all enjoy and it is available in all major streaming platforms!

December 2020

This month, I have graduated from college and have been thinking about what to do next in my musical career. I have been making some real life-changing decisions lately and I want to make sure that I continue delivering my very best to you all.

​

Some things that I have done over the past 3 months are to market more on social media. I have also designed my YouTube channel a little more and have posted some old songs there to get started. I have unfortunately not been able to access a studio since I don't have a home studio. Hopefully, in the coming months, I can regain access and do bigger things.  I continue to remain positive that I can get back to producing great stuff soon.

​

I am also trying to find services to make music videos as well! Hopefully in the next couple years we can see one or two music videos?

​

A lot of exciting things have been happening over the past couple months. But I also want to let you all know of some big changes coming to my profiles. I will be redesigning my music profiles on Spotify and Apple Music this month as part of my 22nd birthday.

 

One of the big changes you will notice over the next few weeks is, I will be deleting "21st Birthday Special" from all streaming platforms and replacing it with a new compilation album titled, "22 Musical Years of Anirudh Rajagopalan". This will be a compilation of my best songs to date based on results in the past year.

The good news is that all the songs that might be deleted from these pages as a result of this new album can still be found on my SoundCloud. Because of additional costs, I am taking these steps while making sure to provide the best to everyone.

There have been some exciting new additions to my website!

​

Newest additions include a redesigned "Music" page where there are embedded videos of some of my performances over the years. These videos also feature some of the kids and the groups that I have had the wonderful opportunity of playing for. These are great additions along to all the released voice recordings.

​

There will also be a new page dedicated to pictures from my live performances including some with my friends and other performers. I love being part of teams that are dedicated to bringing out the best of our combined potential and we always strive every time to not just meet expectations but to exceed them.

There is no other hobby I love than sharing my music and ideas with so many of my fans all around the world. Summer is typically the peak of performance season as I have more time in my hands and I am not under the stress of a few classes.

​

However, at this uncertain time concerning a global pandemic and other issues, for the safety of all my team members and family, I have decided to scale back from performing and cancel any opportunities coming for the time being. I am hoping that everyone is safe and well as we navigate the months ahead. If you know someone who is struggling during this time, please reach out to them. It helps. By next year, my family and I hope that we can safely get back to performing.

​

In the meantime, we are continuing to refine our skills and compose new songs in our home. We are actively taking suggestions from you, so all of us can remain engaged during this time. We also plan to donate to multiple causes and organizations that are on the frontlines of all the issues that we are facing today.

For more than a decade, I and my family have worked hard to expose kids of all ages to the world of Carnatic Music. This decade, we are excited to take the next step forward.

​

We are developing more opportunities around the state of Ohio for kids to develop the confidence needed to perform proudly onstage and have more direct experience being part of a group including a vocalist and instrumentalists.

With my mother's years of experience in Carnatic Music as well as some of my own experiences with Carnatic Music and Bollywood and other genres, we are committed to developing new rhythms and beats within Carnatic Music and we are just getting started.

​

One thing we plan on doing in Carnatic Music is having more kids in fewer sessions so that we facilitate more relations between different students who have different ideas and that's how everyone learns and grows in music. The exchange and learning of different ideas is what drives innovation in certain areas of Carnatic Music (e.g. swaras, korvais, thaniavarthanams, and even pallavis).  We plan on doing this especially for more experienced students as they have a better grounding of how a cutcheri goes.

​

As for the Bollywood part, we will also do the same, integrating more and more rhythms and developing some of our own and really combing these different sounds and beats to make even better works.

​

In the meantime, I am also one of the earliest members of Buckeye Bhairavi, a newly-founded club at Ohio State University that intends to spread the musical and dance cultures of Carnatic and Hindustani music to more and more young college students and beyond.
